Award Staffing is partnering up with a prominent electrical manufacturer and we're looking for a skilled, qualified Production Supervisor to start at their facility in Brooklyn Park. Position Title: Warehouse Supervisor

Schedule/Hours: 1st Shift; Monday-Friday;

1st Shift: 5 am 2: 30 pm Mon Thurs, 5 am 9 am on Fri.

Position Description:
The Warehouse supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of product
and materials in and out of the warehouse during assigned shift.
Key responsibilities:
Warehouse Supervision and Administration
Hire and train the staff required to operate the warehouse; provide leadership, coaching and direct supervision to all warehouse employees to ensure products are delivered on-time and meet customer requirements.
Maintain positive employee relationships and communications with workforce to support a work culture of high employee engagement.
Provide in-house training and staff development to maintain and improve warehouse operations and staff skills.
Maintain safe work practices and housekeeping programs using 5S principles, as well as maintenance and upkeep of all equipment
Implement Lean principles in all aspects of the Warehouse transactions and activities and contribute to the implementation of best practices at all  of the client's  facilities.
Develop creative solutions to the on-going effort to improve quality and flow of materials.
Complete special projects and perform other duties as apparent or assigned.
Inventory Control
Ensure inventory accuracy and order selection, productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of storage space and equipment, and proper protection of stored materials and company assets; oversee and execute all inventory control procedures (e.G. Cycle counting).
Ensure that all inventory items are properly identified and readily accessible, thus enabling the Order Processing Department to pull a high volume of items in the shortest possible time.
Shipping and Receiving/Transportation
Ensure that materials are received and moved to designated areas for storage.
Schedule all incoming and outgoing loads maintaining accurate logs of all transactions.
Ensure quality service to our customers by meeting customer shipping requirements within the established time frames, and by communicating to internal contacts any warehouse issues that may impact customers.
Ensure cost effective and efficient use of Freight/Transportation including company owned and external freight solutions.
Receipt Management
Ensure/Monitor consistency/accuracy of daily receipts, both consigned and non-consigned.
Ensure receipts are complete and scanned to accounts payable daily.
Contact Purchasing when and if discrepancies occur in a timely manner.
Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization

Skills/Requirements for the position:
Supervisory responsibilities
Provides training, supervision, and direction to warehouse employees
Education, experience and skills:
High School diploma or GED. Post-Secondary education preferred.
Three- five years warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment; 3+ years warehouse supervisory experience.
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and employ appropriate decision making skills with minimal to no supervisory intervention.
Creative skills to resolve complex issues and provide leadership in an environment of continuous improvement and new product development.
Strong leadership skills and experience leading cross-functional teams. Works well in team environment.
Working knowledge of material handling, warehouse operations and transportation systems.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma 5S and other relevant quality methodologies.
Knowledge of computer skills necessary including; ERP Operating Systems and Microsoft Office (e.G., Outlook, Excel, Word)
