Position Title: Chocolate Assistant

Location: Mahtomedi

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Hours: 8am-4pm, but flexible

Pay rate: $12/hour with no experience & $13/hour with experience

Position Description:

Primary responsibility is to set up, breakdown, cleanliness, and day to day operation of the Knobel one shot depositor as well as any production and janitorial tasks that are required.

-Setup and breakdown of all Chocolate Equipment as determined by products

-Full understanding of how all production equipment works within 3 months of being on the job

-Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of chocolate being produced per company standards -Work with making chocolates and toffee products

-Ensure the entire department, equipment, storage areas, floors, and all surfaces stay clean and sanitary at all times

-Observe chocolate temper, contraction, and quality of completed items, full understanding of chocolate and its properties within 6 months of being on the job

-Keep machine parts clean and sanitary as well as maintaining the integrity and quality at all times

-Must be knowledgeable about all emergency shut offs on all machines when applicable as well as main power breakers

-Follow and complete the daily cleaning list

-Record accurate dates, times, ingredients, and lot numbers for all products

-Scale, cook, and hold Ganaches, caramels, melt away according to company standards

-Notify supervisor of product errors, deficiencies, abnormalities, and expired products

-Janitorial duties as assigned: Laundry, mopping, etc.

-Recognize non-routine problems and report them

-Notify management of any concerns relating to physical plant, machine operation, materials, and chocolate products

-Ability to keep all paperwork organized and turned in on time to plan manager

-Communication with production leads and plant managers is critical to success in this role

-Learn plan policies, procedures, and workflow within 1 month of being on the job

-Pass all training tests within 1 week of hire


-Be able to lift 40#

-Be able to stand for up to 10 hours per day

-Be able to work on a cooker with exposure to hot sugar

-Be able to work on machinery with chocolate

-Read, write, and speak in English

-Basic understanding of computers

-Previous chocolate, pastry, food service preferred
